RECREATION

Pitman is located in Gloucester County, New Jersey. It is approximately 17 miles southeast of Philadelphia. It is one mile from Rowan University in Glassboro. Pitman has an area of 2.3 square miles and a population of 9,365. The Borough has 13 churches, three elementary schools, one middle school and one high school.


OUR MISSION: To provide the highest level of service to the residents of Pitman while maintaining the community’s infrastructure in the most cost-effective manner possible.  We provide essential services in the areas of drinking water, sanitary and storm sewer maintenance, trash, recycling and yard waste collection, streets, buildings, grounds and vehicle maintenance.  We continually strive to improve our services by incorporating new technology, employee involvement, improved customer service and new ideas to effectively maintain our service oriented department.

POLICE

Holiday Closings
Municipal, Public Works, and Police Administration Offices will be closed on Monday, December 25 for the Christmas holiday, and will re-open on Tuesday, December 26 at 12:00pm.  Offices will also be closed on Monday, January 1, for the New Year's holiday.                                                                                    Note:  Residential trash/recycling collection will be delayed by one day the weeks of December 25, and January 1.


2018 Dog & Cat Registration

Licenses for dogs and cats may be purchased at Borough Hall beginning on January 2, 2018.  A late fee of $10.00 will be added after the March 31 deadline.  Current rabies certificate must be valid through October 31, 2018 in order to purchase a license.

The Gloucester County Emergency Response Center, cooperatively with the Borough of Pitman, are initiating an online overnight parking portal which offers residents and visitors a concise and efficient approach to submit and register overnight parking requests.
